BIG SHOPPING DAY!

Okay so Columbus day isn't the biggest shopping day of the year. BUT it's definitely a good time to catch some sales to complete your fall wardrobe or get those items you need for winter, like . . . . soup, sweaters, or tires. (Stop looking at me like that - By the time chilly November arrives, you'd wish you shopped on Columbus day for them and gotten them on sale too.) Trivia: Did you know that the first Columbus Day celebration occurred was held in 1792, in New York City, on the 300th anniversary of Columbus landing in the New World? Also did you know that October is Breast Cancer Awareness month? OH PRADA!!!!

Prada has flipped the purse game! You thought grays, metallics and crocs were fly, checkout this butterscotch fade to dark chocolate tasty one. It has the reflective shine that's in style this season with metalics and patents leather and the rich colors of honey and brown always in style in the fall. Together it makes me want to head to the nearest starbucks and profile while I sip a cafe mocha topped with whip cream and caramel. (Prada Vernice Bowler - $2425, Prada Sfumata Mary Jane - $550, cafe mocha - less than $10).

HOUNDSTOOTH - me no likey

I usually like what Usher wears and when he's not wearing anything and shows us his six pack and infectious smile. BUT I don't like him in HOUNDSTOOTH. In fact I don't like Houndstooth. Its origin is in the woven wool cloth of the Scottish Lowlands and popularized by Univ. of Alabama coach Paul "the Bear" Bryant. Unless in the small pattern or in accessories, it makes me dizzy. (The coat is cute but I'm getting a sherlock homes vibe.)

I had to go back to my safe place after the skull posting. So I'm back on shoes. Check out these

NOT A WISHLIST ITEM - skull and crossbones

I've noticed that skull and cross bones are showing up more and more again as a fashion decoration (for lack of a better world). I've seen it on bags, in jewelry and in britney's belt. "It's not hot, y'all!" It's toxic (and so 2006 see article on skull fashion here - http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,186538,00.html)

My fantasy shopping (or delusions of grandeur, some would say) does not just stop at accessories and clothing. It includes homes, yatchs, and cars. Let's start first with homes because that's where the heart is. This home (the Portabello Estate to be exact) is $75 million and located in Corona del Mar, California.

THE TINMAN COMETH - in gold!

Pretty people, pretty people - Can one of you explain to me why this shoe exists? Why any man would want to wear this shoe at anytime other than on Halloween to match his gold tinman costume? (would that make him goldman or perhaps brassman?) I digress. It's Dior's Metallic Sneaker for men for $440. I understand metallic is in (see previous posts) but haven't we crossed the line here!
